Possibly my favorite band and most definitely my favorite Japanese band, Siam Shade beats them all. Their music is right on, their voices are right on, their everything is right on. Unfortunately, they announced the band's break up. A cd with all of their best hits will come out in March 2002 before they break up. This is a big deal in Japan as this band is one of the best, although underrated in Japan. Japan's favorites include Glay, Hamasuki Ayumi *who is basically like a goddess to them*, L'arc~en~Ciel *which did the ending song for Final Fantasy : The Spirits Within, "Spirit Dreams Inside"*, Mr. Children *whom I personally do not like*, and others. The Japanese idea of music is so much different than ours. We have music for emotion, entertainment, and maybe occasionally to get a real point across. To the Japanese, music means so much more.. just like music in America used to mean so much. Now a lot of music in America is just people getting angry at eachother or it's all about sex and drinking and parties and junk - that is, music most popular in America is like this. I'm not saying Japan doesn't have some of this - they definitely do - but it's not the main demand there. They like spiritual songs or fun songs. That is one of the reasons that Siam Shade is so underrated in Japan. They don't realize the absolute Passion this group has for music. Just listen to some of their songs... if you want to, I'm on MSN or AIM...so just ask me to send them to you. I also have most of their lyrics, too, so it's not like you'll just be listening to something you can't understand - you'll be reading something you can't understand, too! Alright, a little about the band...

Hideki and Kazuma are by far my favorites in the band. For one, Hideki has the awesomest voice that I've ever heard. I do like the entire band though - they're all great at pretty much everything... Here's an example of their good instrumental and a piece of Hideki's voice..although not the best piece.

The first two are Hideki and the second two are Kazuma. I think Hideki even FITS his voice... it could just be because I've been their fan for 4 years though. Who knows. Anyway...
